As a parent, I could be repetitive. Some lessons are that important.
My kids know if that.
If you're a parent, you could be repetitive, too -- I'm sure you know what I mean.
But there's one thing that probably stands head and shoulders above
all the lessons I've taught my kids (they've gotten sick of hearing it). It's this:
If You Give Your Word to Someone, You Must Follow Through
Not only is this an important lesson for kids and teenagers, but equally as important for adults. Maybe even more so
.... Whether in our personal lives or in business.
Frankly, I learned this from my father who taught both my brothers and me the importance of keeping your word.
To be honest, it's not always easy. Sometimes, in following his advice (where I hear his voice in my head all the time), it has cost me a lot of money because circumstances changed and it
wasn't always convenient to follow through on my original promise.
But I did anyway.
Why Is Keeping Your Word Important?
In the business world, where reputation is everything, your word is the currency that attracts or
repels.
If people can rely on what you say and trust you, that's 80% of the sale.
It's one of the best things you can do as you grow your business because it makes you trustworthy.
TRUST IS EVERYTHING.
P.S. I haven't posted a photo of my dad in quite a while. As you might know, he is the inspiration behind why I started the Coptic Chamber. The photo above was originally super blurry and in black and white. Incredible what AI can do.
