Yesterday, while at Rob's BBQ, I watched as a mother lovingly and patiently feed her son, strapped in a high chair, small bites of scrumptious BBQ.
Halfway through the meal, the toddler began digging his finger deep into his nostril. Not once or twice, but several times.
And every time he took went in, his mother
said the same thing over and over:
"Stop Picking Your Nose!"
Did the young lad stop? Certainly not. It was as if she had never said a word.
Now I'm not telling you this to turn your
stomach (I promise, it's not my intention). I'm simply relating this story to hammer home an important observation I've noticed in my decades of marketing consulting, which is:
No matter how many times I suggest you follow a certain strategy... or... recommend various marketing tactics... you will ignore the advice UNTIL you're convinced it will work and are ready to proceed. This might sound like common sense, but it's
something that's taken me years to fully understand.
Take For Example...
I'm a heavy proponent of emails newsletters. I tell practically every client to create one and send it out to (at the very least)
their list of clients/customers/patients.
Do all my clients listen? Very few do, but the majority doesn't.
I have actual evidence that email marketing works, helps strengthen your relationship with your customer and increases revenues. Yet still, not everyone listens.
Perhaps if I
share the following 10 FASCINATING stats with you about email marketing... maybe that will get you excited.
This just might get you to start emailing -- and maybe, it'll get me to stop feeling like that poor mother at the BBQ.
One can only hope.
