A moment of truth.
I know this goes without saying... and it's a given and quite obvious to many of our brilliant members... but I would like to remind us (myself included) of the following:
Customers/Clients/Patients Can "SMELL" Insincerity
Do not underestimate the public's ability to see through a façade:
1 -- If you are insincere as a business owner and care only about the bottom line and ONLY the bottom line, customers will sense it.
2 -- If you are just going through the motions as a business owner, and your heart isn't into what your job, customers will sense it.
3 -- If you haven't properly prepared for your work, or neglected some key tasks, although it may not be immediately apparent, customers will discover it.
4 -- If you're not self-motivated towards achieving excellence, customers will feel
it.
5 -- If you're a master at giving excuses and frequently disappoint your customers, they will tire of giving you a pass.
What Does All This Tell You?
Of course, this is not meant to be critical. This
is a just a friendly reminder of the importance of us always giving 100% in everything we do (work, and every other aspect of our life).
Sincerity, excellence, skill, honesty, diligence, hard-work, effort, motivation, taking responsibility, transparency, straight-forwardness, communication, and on and on. These are all crucial qualities that impact your customers, and how your customers perceive you.
Don't forget that the compilation of your actions ultimately form your reputation.
It takes a long time to build a solid reputation, but only a moment to diminish it.
Hope this reminder helped re-focus your efforts. After all, you never want your customers to smell
insincerity.
