Quick tip today.
It's about rejection.
Part of the reason why small business owners or newbie salespeople are so reluctant to ramp up their marketing efforts is because of one thing:
Fear of
Rejection
They take it personally when someone hangs up on them... or is a no-show for an appointment... or they post on Facebook and only get 1 Like.
Don't take it personally! This is all part of business.
Even more important, that's when you have to double down on your efforts and become more determined to
succeed.
One of my favorite success stories involves Walt Disney of Walt Disney World and the Mickey Mouse empire (back then the Disney Corporation was a very different company than it is today).
Walt had a dream of creating cartoons and animation that would wow his audiences. But, time after time, he failed miserably. No one wanted his work. Even the movies Pinocchio, Fantasia and
Bambi were all box office duds when they were first released.
And despite financial hardships, bankruptcy, and even living on eating BEANS IN A CAN for years, he persevered. Nothing would deter his drive and ambition.
And it was that drive that eventually propelled Disney into legendary status, becoming a household name for both kids and adults alike.
There are
many more success stories like Walt's. Legendary stories.
No one said it was easy... but the only path to success involves hard work and determination. Don't get discouraged and NEVER give up.
So, the next time you don't feel the love, don't sulk about it. Get right up and figure out your next course of action. You could be much closer to big success than you realize.
P.S. Did you know that Mickey Mouse was first called Mortimer Mouse? It's true. It was Walt's wife that suggested he name the mouse Mickey. Good move.
