You will hear this pretty much unanimously:
Garlic Is Good For Your Health
(Good for everyone's health except Dracula!)
It benefits the cardiovascular,
anti-inflammatory, immune systems and it's antimicrobial, and it's antioxidant and has other benefits.
So why doesn't everyone chew garlic like Tic Tacs?
Because A) You'd probably stink of garlic all day (it's so unappealing); and B) It's not so easy to be peeling and eating garlic on demand.
So the solution
has been that some companies have encapsulated garlic in pill form without the overpowering odor and effects (Garlique). Plus, it's much easier to ingest.
So What's the Business Lesson Here?
Simple. To gain a competitive advantage, find a way to take the most unpleasant/impractical aspects of your business
and restructure/repurpose them in a way that's tolerable, convenient or even semi-enjoyable.
FOR EXAMPLE: Law firms know that many people hate the uncertainty and surprise billing that's often associated with legal matters. So, many firms started offering FLAT FEE rates. Problem Solved.
FOR EXAMPLE: Sometimes it's impractical or nearly impossible to drive to the doctor's office for a heath matter. So,
many doctors started offering TELE-HEALTH (virtual) consultations. Problem solved.
FOR EXAMPLE: People hate waiting in line at the toll booth. So, companies created E-Z Pass, SunPass, etc. and licensed the technology to the states. Problem solved.
There are dozens and dozens more examples I can cite -- I'm sure there are aspects of your
company/firm/practice/product that people dislike as well. If you can find a way to SIMPLIFY or STREAMLINE those processes or remove the main OBSTACLE, you'll be golden.
There's no promising you'll keep vampires away, but you'll have customers lining up at your door.
