Dear ,
One of the best ways to get someone's attention is using the sense of smell. The more
pungent the smell, the more attentive (and maybe even offended) someone gets.
But, if you're trying to get the attention of the media, there's something even better you can do.
Here's the scoop:
A few years ago at Coptic-Con 2019, you heard me talking about some of the secrets I've used to generate millions of dollars in free publicity.
I'm not talking about a few local papers. I mean major front page write ups from top publications like The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Forbes, USA Today and many
others.
I even received NATIONAL publicity on NBC-TV worth $1,000,000's for that alone.
Why am I telling you all this?
Because one of my secrets is so simple you might not believe it.
For a bunch of these feature articles all I had to do was...
Just
Ask!
It's true. You'd be amazed at how many editors, publishers, writers, bloggers, producers and others need YOUR type of expertise.
For an upcoming story...
For a feature article...
For an in-depth interview...
For a magazine profile...
For a blog post...
For a short (even recurring) TV news segment...
And on and on.
Sometimes, a short email did the trick. For others, I made a phone call and next thing I knew, I was a feature story. For others, I simply sent my bio.
But every single time, it all started with a simple question that went something like this:
"Would You Be Interested In My Expertise?"
And then in the email you proceed to explain how what you can offer will benefit THEM.
Now, don't get me wrong, not all answers will be yes. In fact, you'll hear no more often than you'll hear yes.
But so what? No one ever bats .1000 all the time.
But it's certainly
worth asking these media outlets because just one media story can lead to more business than you can handle. Believe me, I know.
It may not be your cup of tea to pitch yourself to them. But why not? The rewards can be tremendous.
Think of it this way: What's the best that can happen? They say yes. What's the worst that can happen? They say no.
You have a lot more to gain than lose.
I'm attaching just a few clips of the
media I've received over the years to encourage you. If I can do it, you can too.
P.S. If you'd like to learn one-on-one from me how to make a huge media splash and be the go-to expert in your field, email me. We'll talk and maybe make it happen.
