You know why a lot of marketing fails?
Because it's so...
Terribly Dull!
Seriously, PLEASE give your marketing and your messaging some personality!
People are afraid to show personality in their marketing because they worry it won't look "professional."
Guess what?
In today's age of
social media sharing and a very informal business culture, the meaning of professional has taken different shapes and forms.
I dare say, not only should you be exciting and show personality in your marketing... but if you don't...
You'll Watch Everyone Else Make It Big
and
Wonder Why You're Not Succeeding
You see the photo above? If you're a fan of the original Batman TV series, you'll definitely recognize it.
I't s a replica of the original Batmobile... and what's even cooler... it's
signed by Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin) and George Barris (the designer of the car). I'm a big fan of Batman stuff and thought I'd share it with you.
Between you and me, I think there are certain things we never outgrow. For some of us, it's the love of toys. (Did I ever tell you about the time I was on TV with my two sons because of our huge toy collection? That's a story for
another time.)
So sharing the Batmobile pic not only makes today's message a little more exciting but it perfectly illustrates what I mean about injecting some life and personality into your marketing.
And I bet you don't think an ounce less of me or consider me "unprofessional,"
did you?
I just want to make sure you don't commit the ULTIMATE and most egregious marketing sin -- and that's being BORING!
Because if you're boring, it's game over. You'll never get your prospect's attention or get a chance to make your pitch or ultimately sell them your product.
So, start thinking of creative ways to spice up your marketing, ok?
Have a great weekend!
And, remember, K.I.C. (Keep It Coptic).
