I just hung up the phone with one of our Chamber members and we were discussing this very thing.
He said that when people make appointments, for whatever reason, a high percentage don't follow through and show up. In any given month, it could be a 30 or 40% no-show rate!
Wow, that's high. I told him it's pretty easy to cut this no-show rate... probably in half (and possibly even better than that)
with one simple technique.
So, the Day Right Before the Appointment...
You record a video and send it to the upcoming client/customer/patient (BY TEXT AND EMAIL) that says something like this:
"Hi, it's (your name). I just found out that you're coming in tomorrow. That's great! I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you with/discussing (mention your area of business). I'm ready to assist in any way that I can. I've already instructed my staff to hold all my calls tomorrow when you come in, so I can give you my undivided attention. And by the way... I have a small gift to give you, so make
sure you get it before you leave, ok? See you tomorrow!"
HERE'S THE BEAUTY OF THIS: You don't mention any names so you tape the video only ONCE and your staff just sends the same video to everyone coming in.
SECOND, in terms of what gift to give them? It
should be something small like a t-shirt with your brand on it, a small branded duffel bag, a branded mug or anything else with your name/logo in the $5-$10 range.
That should do the trick! Try it and you'll be amazed at how many more people keep their appointments... and ultimately... sign up with you.
