I was speaking with one of our Chamber members a few days ago and we discussed referrals.
I'm still amazed at how many people take referrals for granted.
-They don't acknowledge the referral with even a phone call...
-They don't send a HANDWRITTEN thank you card...
-They don't send a thank you gift...
-They don't make the referring person feel special and make a huge deal about getting the referral...
-They don't give special rewards to people who regularly send referrals...
And, even before all of that, they are shy about asking for referrals in the first place.
So, if all of the above is true,

Number of Referrals You Get Is Anemic?
I can't emphasize enough the importance of responding to a referral in a HUGE way. Make it an extravaganza.
I assure you, because very very few people create a spectacle out of receiving a referral, not only will you be memorable, you will continue to receive referrals because of your smart positioning.
