I'm asked probably once a week (at least) --
How did we make the Coptic Chamber so dominant on social media in such a short time. What was the secret?
First of all, like I mentioned maybe a month or two ago, I will, God willing, do a video that details the blueprint I've used to build the Chamber's social media accounts.
Between Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts (business and personal), we have over 14,000 followers. They like our posts, comment and are actively and heavily engaged. Sometimes, many hundreds of likes, dozens of comments on a single post. This might not seem like a large number, but for a fairly new organization in the Coptic community, we are one of the most visible and followed in our community.
Thank God, people find our content compelling.
And a good chunk of what we post is targeted to the public encouraging them to ask us for referrals and do business with our members.
That's key.
Secondly, like I told a prospective Chamber member on the phone today... I was very clear:
As the Leader of the Coptic Chamber,
My Goal is to Make Our Members Shine
And Present Them All As Business Heroes
The more spotlight I put on the members, the better.
But how do I really feel about social media?
As a marketing tool, it's FANTASTIC.
Personally, however, I'm just not comfortable with it. That's the truth.
I've always been a private person and in my 40+ years of not using social media, have been quite happy keeping my happenings to myself and my inner circle.
But, I realized (frankly, late in the game), if I am to be competitive in this new marketing world, I must have a strong social media presence.
Not just a presence -- I must dominate in order to cut through all the noise.
Frankly, this is the primary way to dominate on social media: Your voice must be different than other voices and must pierce through all the yelling, screaming, birthday greetings, arguing, news and political posts, links, cat videos, emojis, and all the other stuff you see.
It's hard. But it is doable? Absolutely.
More about winning at the social media game soon.
Have a great weekend!
