First of all, thank you to all who responded several weeks ago and gave me input on whether we should hold Coptic-Con in-person in Fort Lauderdale again this year.
I truly appreciate all your emails and all the differing perspectives on the matter.
Second, our inaugural Coptic-Con 2019 was such a huge success, I didn't want to lose the momentum by completely cancelling it... and so... I had to weigh that factor in making the decision.
Therefore...
In an abundance of caution, and in factoring in the uncertainly that lies ahead, I have decided to turn the live Coptic-Con event into a Zoom Coptic-Con where we can meet virtually, interact with one another, and learn from the speakers.
Although this is by no means the ideal situation, it is a viable and reasonable solution considering our current circumstances. I hope you understand.
I apologize to all those who were exciting about coming down to beautiful Fort Lauderdale for a weekend of learning, fun and relaxation. God willing, let's pray we can pick with an in-person Coptic-Con next year (everyone really had so much fun last year).
I will follow up soon with all the details on this year's Coptic-Con. It will be held towards the end of October or Early November. I also don't expect it to be a two-day or even full-day event at this point, probably more like a half-day.
If you have any suggestions about ANYTHING -- dates, speakers, topics, during or anything else, please shoot me an email at your earliest convenience.
I know it's not what we all wanted... but... we will make it work nonetheless!
Until next time...
And, remember, K.I.C. (Keep It Coptic).
