Here's the simplest and best advice I can give you for success:
Want to cut your learning curve for any skill... find the best shortcuts... and "cheat" your way to gaining every advantage possible?
Then...
Find Someone Who Has Already
Achieved What You Want to Achieve
And Get Them to Coach You
Yes, that is the greatest and fastest way of getting where you want to go.
Now, by "cheating," I'm not implying that you do anything improper, illegal or unethical.
Not at all.
I'm using the word cheating in the same way someone is said to have "cheated death," i.e., they have found a way to shortcut the system.
And that's what finding a coach will do for you: it gets you to the point you want to go in much faster time than you would have gotten by yourself (If you get there at all).
Pro Athletes, Millionaires, Billionaires,
and All Types of Celebrities Have Coaches...
If you see someone really successful, chances are, they're being coached or have been coached by someone at some point. For example:
-Oprah had hired a coach by the name of Martha Beck to help her as a life coach.
-Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, hired an executive coach and claims it was one of the secrets of his success. For a long time, he resisted the idea, but after seeing the type of results he got from being coached, he said famously, "everyone needs a coach."
-Actor Leonardo DeCaprio hired motivational guru Tony Robbins to coach him on God knows what. (We think all these famous people have everything figured out, but they don't.)
-Tennis great Andre Agassi was ranked 126th in the world at one point. When the right coach stepped in, he eventually achieved the #1 rank.
There's No Shame in Having a Coach
Not only is there no shame in having a coach, it's the smart, savvy people who realize the importance and value of a coach and jump on the opportunity.
Now, lest you think I wrote this coaching newsletter to get you to hire me as a business or marketing coach, that's not the case at all. Thank God, I can say that I have more coaching clients than I can handle... and... even if someone really wanted to hire me, I'd probably have to refer them to someone else.
I don't mean to sound rude, but my time is finite and there's only so much I can do in a day.
But I do encourage you to look for a coach to help you grab that brass ring. It's the best way to get where you want to go.
And remember...
Challenge + Coach = Achievement
