Every business except one needs more excitement....
Dear ,
I can't think of any business that can't use an injection of excitement.
Actually, there is one business that, if excitement is used incorrectly, can backfire. That is any business related to suffering and death like a funeral home.
For all others, here are some ideas you can (and should) use to turn up the volume.
5 Ways to Add Excitement to Your Business
1. Share your story, your mission, your motivation - I remember the first time I told some of our members about the motivation behind starting the Coptic Chamber. It was that my father, God rest his soul, was a chamber of commerce within himself, helping Coptic entrepreneurs and connecting them with opportunity and one another. I revealed that our Chamber, in a way, is an homage to him and that it is the honor of my life to carry on his legacy
in this regard. It may not have necessarily generated "excitement" per se, but created a strong bond between us.
2. Have an animated explainer video made - Explainer videos take complex concepts in your business and explain them in a fun, exciting and interesting way. We had a great explainer video made for Global Coptic Day and it has received many thousands of views. If you want to check it out, here it is: https://youtu.be/RHpZrQ_4w7c
3. Add some excitement by adding a cartoon - I love cartoons! So do most people, yet it is one of the most underused methods of grabbing attention and jolting new customers your way. Your cartoon can be related to a topic or idea (typically this is called an editorial cartoon) or it can be one made of yourself. It can be funny or a more serious illustration. The comic you see above is me in a Spiderman outfit. It's a great
conversation starter and has a great message.
4. Contests, Giveaways, Gifts - Want to add some pizzazz to your business and get your customers to vie for your attention? Easy. Run a contest or have a giveaway. Make it something most people would want. Also make it easy to enter and win.
5. Have some custom stamps made - What a great idea! Go to photostamps.com and turn any photo into a stamp. It can be your pic or your logo, a building or anything else related to your business. I've done this many times and used it like a regular USPS stamp and affixed it on a letter. I've also given them away as a gift. My clients love them. These are REAL, actual stamps.
The illustration you see above is the one I use for my Bionic Marketer brand for my legal marketing niche (obviously prior to the goatee). I can't tell you how many people have commented on it... and... and how extremely memorable it is.
Are you already doing things that are exciting? Want to share them with other members? Send them over and I might write about them in an upcoming newsletter.
Until next time...
And, remember, K.I.C. (Keep It Coptic).
