It's too powerful.
It has made many of my clients and many others untold (sometimes obscene) sums of money.
It's only 4 words.
But I gave in, of course. You won't ever find the compilation of secrets, tips and proven strategies I share with you anywhere else. So I want to keep it that way.
Back to my insider secret...
It is this:
When you're involved in any type of negotiation or are trying to be persuasive in any type of deal-making... once you use these 4 little words, you INSTANTLY GET THE UPPER HAND.
It's like temporary mental paralysis -- or like when the Joker would gas Batman and Robin with his "knockout spray." It instantly knocks out your opponent... it's simply too powerful to overcome.
The words are,
"I'm just not comfortable (fill in the rest)..."
Did you get that?
"I'm Just Not Comfortable.."
It can be "I'm just not comfortable going that low on price"...
Or "I'm just not comfortable giving up that much equity"...
Or "I'm just not comfortable letting you use my laptop"...
Or "I'm just not comfortable running this writing the book without an advance"...
Whatever. It works better than you can imagine: Eight or nine times out of ten, the other person will retreat from their original position... and... very often they will counter with, "So what are you comfortable with?"
Checkmate.
You now have the upper hand.
Why does it work so well? I will speculate that people generally don't want to see others "not comfortable." It's a natural response to want to alleviate someone's discomfort, even in a business situation.
But don't be dismissive of this tactic due to its simplicity. It works... and... it's powerful!
Try it out for yourself and let me know how it goes.
And, remember, K.I.C. (Keep It Coptic).
Until next time.
