Robert Redford, one of the most famous actors of the 20th century, said something that really resonated with me.
I'd like to share it with you.
Now you may be a risk-taker by nature or you may be risk-averse. Or perhaps, you're somewhere in the middle.
But I believe his statement is worth pondering, especially if you're the kind of person who shies away from taking risks or is generally indecisive.
Redford said...
"Not taking a risk is a risk. That's how I see it."
Now while I certainly don't agree with the actor on many things, what he says here makes sense.
When presented with opportunities, we often hesitate out of fear, not because of the inherent risk factor.
If we have done our due diligence and prepared properly, the actual risk level should be very low...
... so NOT taking the risk (or moving forward) is actually the risky move.
Honestly, I never thought about it that way but I like it a lot.
I hope you do, too.
Speaking of risks, if you're not a member of the Coptic Chamber yet, I dare say that's one of the riskiest things you've probably done in a long while (except for that time you wore white after Labor Day)!
