Dear ,
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Feast of the Resurrection with your family and friends.
So I have a short message today on pain on growth.
Let Me Ask You This Question:
When was the last time you experienced any type of growth and didn't feel pain?
1. When kids and teenagers get taller, they feel pain.
2. When a baby gets a new tooth, they cry in pain.
3. When someone moves into a new house, drops their kid off to college or diets or works out, there is always some type of pain or sacrifice involved.
4. Even from a Biblical perspective, if you are to grow in Christ and carry your cross, you will feel pain ("In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33)
In a Business Setting, the Same Applies...
You will never grow and take your business to the next level without some type of pain, some struggle, or a bit of adversity.
The mistake many people make is they run away from the pain -- and think business success can happen without it.
It can't.
Business success takes toil, sacrifice, endurance, walking on hot coals, and yes, PAIN.
The sooner you're willing to accept this reality, the better.
When it comes to your business, I want you to change your mindset from trying to escape pain to recognizing its benefits.
Let Me Give You This Simple Example:
When I launched the Coptic Chamber and announced there would be three levels of membership... and that each required a MONETARY INVESTMENT (as small as it may be)... some of those who were previously interested in joining, walked away.
Why?
Because taking out your credit card and making a payment (on anything) causes a certain degree of pain. They simply weren't willing to go through that to join.
Of course, it's all relative... and certain payments are more painful than others.
But, ultimately, those who were willing to endure the discomfort of payment and saw the incredible upside opportunity of joining the Coptic Chamber, signed up.
Those who feared the pain didn't.
This isn't meant to make anyone feel bad; it's simply an illustration of how pain can be a useful (and often necessary) element of growth because growth is almost always preceded by some level of pain.
This is not a bad thing; this is a necessary thing.
Hopefully now the subject line is more clear.
Until next time...
K.I.C. (Keep It Coptic!)
