Dear ,
I'm pleased to announce that this will be the FINAL update (God willing!) before the public launch of the Coptic Chamber website.
The next time you hear from me about this will be about the launch and other related news.
We were all set to launch this week and when my tech guy was backing up the site right before launch -- POOF! -- everything went haywire. (Ironically, he was working on a plugin that would make the site load faster. Clearly, that didn't happen!)
So, the big day had to be delayed until next week, probably Tuesday or Wednesday. (I know some people wanted to join the Chamber and others wanted to tell their friends and social media followers to join. It will happen soon enough.)
You know, when my guy gave me news of the setback, I wanted to get angry. Then I wanted complain. And then I wanted to blame him.
But you know what? None of that would have helped. Actually, it probably would have made it worse.
So I did none of that.
I tried to follow my own advice and do what I always tell my boys to do:
If Something Blows Up That's Out of Your Control,
Don't Panic, Don't Point Fingers,
And Stay Cool Until You Figure Things Out
And, I'm proud to say, by the grace of God, that's exactly what I did.
I just told him that I understood the situation... and that he was doing his best to rectify it... and then I thanked him for working so hard despite all the pressure.
I think I shocked him.
I'm not saying remaining calm was easy, but it made me feel good to control my emotions. I learned a valuable lesson.
Thanks for letting me share it with you.
Until next time...
