I'll never forget him...
About 10 years ago, I was consulting with a client who was a financial advisor and based in London.
He was a rather pleasant bloke who spoke with a heavy Cockney (East part of London) accent.
One of the reasons why he contacted me was because he spent a lot of money on a postcard campaign... mailed 10,000 pieces... and got close to a 0% response.
He had no idea why.
Very nonchalantly, he took a stab at justifying his failed mailing by declaring...
"I'm Just An Unlucky Bast@#d, I Suppose!"
My response?
Well, you may be unlucky, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the anemic response you received.
As I explained to him -- and will do the same for you -- ANY type of marketing promotion that is designed to give you an immediate response should follow certain rules.
There are guidelines to follow...
If you vary from these rules by even one degree, it could tank your campaign.
I'm not kidding. That's why marketers and copywriters who specialize in this type of marketing get paid a pretty penny.
