Dear ,
Richard Brandson.
He's one of the most recognized personalities in business today.
His crowning achievement is starting Virgin Airlines and all the other Virgin brands.
He's worth billions. Many billions.
So when he talks, people pay attention.
He was once quoted as saying,
"Business Opportunities Are Like Buses.
There's Always Another One Coming."
I have news for you: HE'S WRONG.
A city bus has a set route... the buses mostly look the same, run the same way and have the same number of stops.
Business opportunities are nothing like buses. Opportunities come from all directions, can be massive or tiny, timely or inopportune.
But, no matter what, no two opportunities are alike.
It's possible that if you miss one opportunity -- perhaps it was THE opportunity of your life -- it will never return.
I'm not saying you only get one major shot at success all your life. Not my a long shot.
But what I am saying is that you must treat every single opportunity soberly, with respect and with kid gloves.
Because it's very possible that once a specific opportunity "bus" passes you by, it won't drive back.
You'll wish you had taken the ride.
Every opportunity is a blessing. But not every opportunity looks like an opportunity. That's why your radar tuned at maximum levels at all times.
So, no, they're certainly not like buses.
Hey, we all make mistakes.
Sorry, Richard.
Until next time...
