Dear ,
I've been getting a ton of messages over Facebook congratulating me for my son Michael's acceptance to the Wharton School of Business.
There are already close to 200 congratulatory messages.
I'm so appreciative to each and every person.
I'm not telling you this to boast, but rather I want you to know that I'm slowly going through each of them to say, at the very least, thank you.
Some of these people I don't know and have never met. But I feel it's important to reply to each person individually -- friends, acquaintances and strangers.
Yes, it's time consuming but it's worth my time. By replying to each message, I build a connection with my audience and show appreciation for their time. In the future, when I share a message that's related to the Coptic Chamber or Global Coptic Day, these wonderful people will be more likely to engage with me and share my posts.
With social media (as with most things), you get out what you put in.
Saying thank you is never a waste of time. Whether on social media, in person, by phone or written note (the best way), it is always appreciated and pays dividends.
And let me say thank you to YOU for opening my Coptic Chamber emails and reading them I really do appreciate it.
Until next time...
P.S. The photo of Michael above is when we visited Wharton in July of this year. He was sold as soon as he stepped foot on campus.
