Dear ,
Two very important things happened today.
The first one is terrible. It was the killing of at least 7 Copts in Egypt on their way to St. Samuel the Confessor's Monastery. Masked gunmen ambushed two buses containing our brothers and sisters. Our church considers them martyrs. We ask for their prayers in front of the Heavenly Throne of God.
The other thing that
happened is the special lawyer day that I created way back in 2001 went viral on Twitter (again). I think this is the third year in a row.
You can see the Twitter graphic above.
The legal eagles were exchanging felicitations and congratulatory messages, memes, gifs, graphics and all kinds of fun
stuff If you're interested, you can see it all on Twitter by searching #LoveYourLawyerDay.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to fully enjoy the day because of the news of the St. Samuel martyrs. It was hard to concentrate and be in a festive mood. But, nonetheless, I did, and thank God, I was able to make it as happy an occasion as possible for all the lawyers, law students, law professors,
friends and relatives of lawyers, etc. They were all excited about the day and enjoyed the celebration.
What I want to leave you with is this. In our lives -- this applies to our business lives as well -- we always have so much going on.Sometimes, we go through some rough, tough stuff and no one really knows much about it. And it may be better that way. It's our job to temporarily
set aside whatever struggles we're having and attend to our business. Our customers expect it and our employees expect it (even financially rely on it).
I'm not saying it's easy. But I am saying it's something we must do.
We have to do our best to keep the heavy burdens at bay. Our absolute
best, ok?
I wish you a wonderful weekend.
