Dear ,
I used to be awful at remember names. I mean really bad.
But I am acutely aware of how important making a connection is -- and remembering someone's name -- when
you first meet people.
As they say, you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
So, how did I go from "What was your name again?" to being crowned the Name-Recall Champ (well, not quite)?
It was pretty simple actually.
As soon as I meet someone new or am introduced to them, I immediately use their name in a sentence.
It goes something like this.
Friend: "Hey,
Nader, let me introduce you to my friend, Mark."
Me: "HI Mark! It's great meet you. Let me ask you, Mark, how did the two of you meet?"
Voila. Name memorized.
Using Mark's name in a sentence once is good. Using it twice is even better.
And if you do that you'll also get props for being so personable and attentive.
Really, that's about all I've had to do. I bet this little trick will work for you, too.
The only thing is, you have to remember to do it. :)
