Dear ,
Yesterday, I shared a secret about how to get your emails opened.
But you know what? There's another secret I need to add to it.
When I tell you about it, you'll understand and say, wow, that totally makes sense!
So, without further ado...
Secret #2 For Getting Your Emails Opened
It mainly has to do with the subject line.
Yes, people will check to see who sent the email (if they know you or have a relationship with you, it definitely motivates them to click open).
However, regarding the subject line here is the trick:
1. Keep your subject line 4 words or less. The reason you don't want a long subject line is because a lot of people check their email nowadays on their phone or ipad. In order to fit everything in there, you need to keep it short.
2. Use "Eye Glue" words in the subject line -- and preferably stack them in the front. By "eye glue" I mean you want words that jump out at the reader and keep the eyeballs stuck to the screen. Also, "stacking" in the beginning means you want your eye glue words at the front of the subject line, not at the end. This gives you a higher likelihood that people will see them and open the email.
Example:
"Exciting $450,000 Offer Enclosed!"
IS BETTER THAN
"Here is the offer I told you about"
Why is the first better? First, it's shorter. Second, the "eye glue words" are all front stacked. If the recipient has been waiting for this email, they will JUMP to open it; whereas, in the second scenario, it's possible the email will get lost in the shuffle or get opened more slowly because nothing immediately jumps out to the reader.
Hope you can start practicing this method.
Until next time...
And, remember, K.I.C. (Keep It Coptic).
